Hey everyone, I've been too busy campaigning to blog or to do shows. I know, I'm a horrible person. But after 12 hours in the office and a train ride home, I'm far too drained to podcast. So instead, I want to share what a typical day is for another of our organizers: Princess. Her typical day starts by waking up in a nice soft bed in her supporter housing after sleeping for about six hours.
Next she has breakfast with the nice family who is housing her while she volunteers for Obama.
Then it's off to the office for the 9:00 AM meeting. Princess makes sure to wear her name badge so the volunteers coming in after the meeting will recognize her name and know she's the one who's going to certify them to conduct voter registration drives.
After helping some volunteers conduct a registration drive for a couple hours, Princess returns back to the office in time to create a new list of possible volunteers to call.
She's already spoken with all the caucus precinct captains, so now she's going to call recent donors to thank them for all they've done and contradict that expression of gratitude by asking them to do even more.
Princess gets an enthusiastic yes from one woman and makes an appointment to meet her in person next week.
After the 9:00pm meeting and a long train ride home, princess chats briefly with her host family and crawls into bed to enter her numbers for the day. It will be after midnight when Princess finally puts the computer away and falls asleep.
